Weekly Food Budget Breakdown – Week 11 (March 10–16, 2025)
Another week of budget-friendly family meals, plus a lovely family walk to round it all off. Here’s how we ate well while keeping costs low!

What We Ate This Week
A mix of quick meals and home-cooked favourites:
- Monday: Jacket Potatoes, Cheese, Beans & Coleslaw (Chicken Breast for my fiancée)
- Tuesday: Chicken Nuggets & Chips (Baked Chicken Breast & Veg for my fiancée)
- Wednesday: Garlic Bread-Topped Lasagne
- Thursday: Tuscan Chicken & Braised Rice (Sautéed Savoy Cabbage for my fiancée)
- Friday: Fry-Up
- Saturday: Burger & Curly Fries
- Sunday: Roast Chicken Dinner

Week Highlights – Family Walk & Comfort Food
Work kept me busy this week, and I even had some travel—which meant I got a little break from cooking. Luckily, my fiancée is an amazing cook, so no complaints here!

While there wasn’t one standout meal of the week, there were plenty of family favorites, from Tuscan Chicken to a classic Fry-Up. I also switched up our lasagne, using garlic bread as a topping—the kids loved it! I made a Keto-friendly version too, layering it with savoy cabbage and a low-carb cheese sauce.

But the real treat? Hazelnut Chocolate-Stuffed French Toast on Sunday morning—the perfect sweet ending to the week!

Weekly Food Budget Recap
- Food Shop: £114.02 (including toiletries)
- Guilt-Free Food (Takeaways & Treats): £39.65 (mainly drinks at the pub on our family walk)
- Daily Food Cost per Person: £4.39 (a small improvement from last week!)
Keeping our food shop under £150 is working well, and limiting takeaways is helping balance the budget.
