Sweet-Pastry Save

This is a delightful and simple sweet pastry suitable for all of your sweet pies and tarts.

When cooked it has this light crumbly texture and smooth melt in the mouth buttery taste similar to a quality shortbread.

Perfect for every sweet moment.

Sweet Pastry

The best ever sweet pastry for all your dessert needs.

Servings: 1 23 cm pie tin

Ingredients

  • 225 g Unsalted Butter cold and cubed
  • 350 g Plain Flour
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 50 g icing sugar
  • 1 Large egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp. water

Instructions

  • Sift the flour and salt in to a large mixing bowl and then add the cubed butter. Mix between your fingers until it resembles bread crumbs.
  • Add the sugar and briefly rub a little more. Add the egg yolk and water and gently combine. When it has almost all come together empty on to a work surface and knead gently until it comes to a smooth ball.
  • Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
