Prep Time10 minutes

Total Time20 minutes
Servings: 4 people

Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef Mince chuck if you can get it, ask your butcher
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. natural yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp. Breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Medium white onion finely diced
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Chilli flakes optional
  • 1 tsp. English mustard powder optional
  • 4 Toasted burger buns

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a bowl bowl to mix thoroughly with your hands.
  • Once mixed heat a frying pan with a little oil and fry a tablespoon of your burger mixes. This, once cooked will allow you to taste for seasoning. Add more salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Once seasoned to your liking, separate into 4 even pieces and shape in to your burger patties. Lay on to a plate and refrigerate until required.
  • Take out at least 10 minutes before cooking.
  • Heat a no stick pan (I like to use an iron skillet for the line effect) and then brush each burger with oil and place into your medium to hot pan.
  • Cook on each side for 3-4 minutes. If needed cook for a further minute on each side until cooked through.
  • Once cooked serve in warmed toasted bun with the fillings that you like. I like American cheese, homemade BBQ sauce, yellow mustard, fried onions and mushrooms, bacon and gherkins.

Notes

These go great served with juicy buttered corn on the cob and sweet potato fries.
Where possible try and get 20% fat beef mince as this will add a lot of flavour and not dry your burgers out too much
