Servings: 4 naan breads

Ingredients

  • 250 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp. natural yoghurt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • tsp. Salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or ghee I used olive oil
  • 450 g strong white flour
  • tsp. dried yeast

Instructions

  • Pour the milk into the bread maker bucket, followed by the yoghurt, sugar, salt and fat. Cover with the flour and finally sprinkle the yeast over. Set the machine to dough programme.
  • When the programme has finished turn the dough out on to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
  • Divide in to four equal pieces and roll out into oval shapes at ¼ inch thick. Pre-heat the grill to its highest setting with the shelf at its lowest.
  • Place two breads on to a baking sheet and then cook under the grill until lightly puffed up and golden brown, turn over and repeat. Follow the same with the final two breads then cover with a clean tea towel to prevent the breads form completely drying out and serve warm.
  • These can be made ahead of time. To warm up place in to a pre-heated oven for a few minutes or a few seconds in the microwave.
