I am sat here typing away to share the delights that will be in store for my wife Bea on mother’s day.
More important is that she is the most amazing mum to our gorgeous children. How she manages to do as she does is beyond me, the three most energetic, charismatic kids ever and while they bicker, chase each other around the house and tease to the point it annoys them each equally she remains calm, poised and sets such a great authority they definitely know who is boss.
A joke we have in our house, well more one from me as I try to tell the kids I am the boss, of which the always reply…
“If your the boss, Mum is the ‘Colonel’ and she always tells you what to do” ha-ha. It isn’t always like that…although I have just done all the washing.
So this Mothers Day, 14 March 2015, I have a few treats in store. Nothing to extravagant but enough that gets the kids involved to bring some homemade love to the day.
We are all going to go for dinner first on the Saturday as everywhere is booked up on the Sunday but I also want to ensure that she has the day off, is pampered with breakfast in bed, has nothing to worry about and be waited on by the kids and I. How this pans out with a 1, 3 and 8 year old we shall see, so can imagine it will be me running around, but not a bad compromise for this special day.
How lunch goes on the Saturday I will let you all know with an update and some photos of the food.
As for the gift I have ordered some canvas and will get the kids to do some hand print painting to the template of a heart. I seen this while on Google and looking around as you do and seen something similar and thought this would be nice.
As with the lunch I will update with pictures in a further post.
Finally for Bea’s day I will be making toffee apples with the kids. Why you ask? Well of all the things Bea could have as a gift she chose toffee apples, and more specifically a pink lady or granny smith apple. Think it will be a pink lady as will not be a sharp.
Roll on this week, with plenty to do and lots of photos incoming.
Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy following our travel to the best Mum’s day ever.
